It's Here - Again

Continuing to downplay the recurring cases of Mad Cow being discovered in Canada and the US, government officials in each country say all is well with news of the Canada's fifth case becoming public:

I don't think it overly raises concerns," said George Luterbach, a veterinary official with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. "Our investigation has not found that there has been any substantive lack of compliance."

U.S. Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns said he did not anticipate a change in status in trade between the countries. "It is important to note that Canada's monitoring system identified this animal as one that should be removed from the food and feed supply chain, ensuring food safety continues to be protected," Johanns said in a statement.

Uh-huh. Everyone relax. We all know how trustworthy the Republicans are, and how their cozy relationships with big business and big cattle producers only exist to protect the public. Ya – sure.

Time to pull out a prior post from the Human Stain on the Mad Cow case discovered in Alabama last month. Remember the ten year incubation period......
