Hallelujah
Today is the day Ted Haggard has determined that he is “completely heterosexual”. After three week of intensive counseling, Rev. Ted has been cured of the evils of homosexuality. Yessiree – it's a miracle – that's what is – for sure – Amen brother, Amen. Yep, apparently his sexual contact with men was just limited to his accuser. Thing that is a little puzzling though is – if there was only one guy in Ted's life, why is he being treated for sexual addiction? Well, either Ted has had other gay flings, or his one tryst on the male side was mighty powerful. How else is he addicted?
The sheep following Rev. Haggard don't have anything to worry about and should rest easy. According to the Rev. Tim Ralph, the counseling – conducted in Arizona, left Rev. Ted sure of one thing - "He is completely heterosexual," ....... "That is something he discovered. It was the acting- out situations where things took place. It wasn't a constant thing."
The Lord moves in mysterious ways.

Forget about the examples we see every day of people struggling with their sexuality. If this quite humorous example isn't enough to make religious people see that homosexuality is not a choice and has nothing to do with faith, those people will never see it. Haggard has clearly struggled with and hid his feelings, bringing him to this low. Why would he have chosen that? And, he had appeared quite faithful enough to his followers all along- they never would have known had his accuser not come out. So, either the religious will see that faith and "morality" can be faked and hid behind (as we all know they can), or, they have nothing to do with sexual preference. Maybe the super-religious will actually start thinking about it, but I doubt it.
