Pot Calls Kettle Black

So here we have Darth Cheney, resplendent in his plush and luxurious hypocrites robes, telling the Russians that their government policies are harmful and 'counter-productive.' This is really a hoot. Play this game – substitute America for Russia in all of his statements:

Russia has a choice to make. And there is no question that a return to democratic reform in Russia will generate future success for its people and greater respect among fellow nations.....
In his speech, Cheney said opponents of reform in Russia "are seeking to reverse the gains of the last decade".....
In many areas of civil society — from religion and the news media to advocacy groups and political parties — the (Russian) government has unfairly and improperly restricted the rights of her people.......
Other actions by the Russian government have been counterproductive and could begin to affect relations with other countries.......

This is the biggest farce of all:

Cheney said "no legitimate interest is served when oil and gas become tools of intimidation or blackmail ... and no one can justify actions that undermine the territorial integrity of a neighbor or interfere with democratic movements."

Ever the sensitive diplomat, Shooter Cheney was quoted today:

Vice President Dick Cheney on Friday shrugged off negative Russian reaction to his criticism of President Vladimir Putin, saying he had merely described "the extent to which they seem to resist the development of strong democracies" in Eastern Europe.

That's our Dick. Just what America has come to expect - firing from the hip with ill-considered statements full of disdain for anyone not agreeing with his lordly 'vision' of what is pure and right. What a smoothie. What a danger to this country. 990 days left.
