Aiding and Abetting
TIM RUSSERT: Senator Roberts, let me ask you a very serious question. Do you believe that the Constitution gives the President of the United States the authority to do anything he believes is necessary to protect the country?
ROBERTS: Yes, but I wouldn’t say anything he believes. I think you go at it very, very carefully. And that’s been done by every president that I know of.
In 1977, Nixon appeared in an interview with David Frost:
FROST: "So ... what ... you're saying is that there are certain situations ... where the president can decide that it's in the best interests of the nation or something, and do something illegal."
NIXON: "Well, when the president does it that means that it is not illegal."

Notice Roberts didn't attempt to say we are a country of laws and even the President has to obey them. Anyone feel comfortable with Chimpie deciding what is acceptable or not?
So America, if little Georgie wakes up in a drunken stupor some morning and decides to have the FBI arrest your whole family without any probable cause, you can thank Pat Roberts for helping to enable the crime.

Right on, James! Pat Roberts has become a menace in sheep's clothing. I stumbled on your blog by accident. Think I'll bookmark it.
