What they really meant
Focus on the Family, a front group for one of the American Taliban's leaders, James Dobson, announced that they have severed business relations with Wells Fargo Bank, citing the firms' support for the “radical homosexual agenda.” They announced this action on their radio show Dec.1, 2005. This is the translation:
“Focus on the Family has elected to end its banking relationship with Wells Fargo, motivated primarily by the bank’s refusal to knuckle under to our radical, right wing efforts to send all homosexuals to hell. The bank directly opposes our underlying principles, that homosexuals are abhorrent creatures who deserve to be treated as lepers and should be forced to become heterosexuals. Since they won't agree with us, a decision to firmly adhere to our bigoted position had to be made.
Earlier this year we learned that Wells Fargo gave a matching gift to a pro-homosexual group to enable it to raise more money to fight repressive organizations like our own. As one of Wells Fargo’s customers, we objected, and we received no satisfactory resolution from the bank’s corporate office, they did not fall to their knees, begging forgiveness like we enjoy seeing from everyone else.
The homosexual group’s web page said this: “Incredible news: Wells Fargo has offered to help support GLAAD’s fight for equality against the Anti-Gay industry by matching your tax-deductible contribution dollar for dollar.”
We realize that if we dealt only with companies that reflect our Christo-fascist values we would have a hard time doing business with sensible Americans and corporations. That said, when our bank allows proceeds from our business to be used to impede our hateful work, we must object, even if it inconveniences us in our bigoted professional relationships.
We at Focus on the Family respect the worth and dignity of every human being, as long as they are white, and believe like we do. We are not attacking the gay individual, nor are we singling out Wells Fargo employees for censure, we are bound and determined to eliminate all homo's and companies that don't hate them from our society. We had the opportunity to work with many Wells Fargo staff while in relationship with the bank, and we know firsthand they don't fear us. However, we know that the agenda of the homosexual movement and its activists scares us to death and we can't handle allowing “others” to have the same rights as we do.
Our decision is not principled, but prejudicial, and we know our constituents and others like us will support our efforts of oppression and discrimination.”
