Pretty please

The Sunday morning news show appearances of National Security Adviser, Steven Hadley were a little bizarre. Many of his statements are currently believed to be lies, they will be proven as such in the months to come.

“What the president has said is that we do not torture.... And he said that while we need to be aggressive in the war against terror, we also have to do it in a way that complies with U.S. law, with U.S. treaty obligations and with the Constitution” Truth is we do torture thru proxies – we just don't do it in America.

“We comply with U.S. law, we respect the sovereignty of the countries with which we deal, and we do not move people around the world so that they can be tortured.” Truth is we don't comply with the Genva Conventions, we respect sovereignty as long as we don't get caught, and we do move people to be tortured.

He said Bush was troubled by news accounts that the U.S. military secretly paid Iraqi newspapers to print pro-American articles. “The Pentagon is looking into them. To the extent that kind of behavior is inconsistent with our policy, it will be stopped.” Truth is it won't be stopped because it is not inconsistent with our policy – it is our policy.

Does this guy really think he convinced anyone?
