Not American values

One of the major requirements for a functioning democracy is the necessity of maintaining a fully independent and credible news media. Without that, the country is not free. The shameful practice of the US military paying Iraqi newspapers for propaganda favorable to the US and puppet Iraqi government, proves the total falsity of Bush's statements on progress in Iraq.

Sen. Ted Kennedy has it exactly right when he characterized the program as a scheme that “speaks volumes about the president's credibility gap. If Americans were truly welcomed in Iraq as liberators, we wouldn't have to doctor the news for the Iraqi people.”

Reacting to the furor over the issue, White House spokesman Scott McClellan said “We're very concerned ...We are seeking more information from the Pentagon.” What a joke! This is modus operandi for the cabal, they encourage this type of covert propaganda, as was proven by their exposed attempts to covertly influence the American media. The only reason they may be “concerned” is they are envious of the Pentagon's apparent success at this and want to find a way to make it work domestically without being discovered.
